The Hook Knife 163 has a 74 mm blade with a shallow curve and double-edged blade, designed for carving spoons or bowls with a large radius. The stainless steel holds its edge well and is easy to maintain. The knife features a full rat-tail tang for strength and stability, and a comfortable barrel-shaped Scandinavian birch handle.

The blade’s wide, shallow curve and double edge make it perfect for carving spoons or bowls with a large radius and for smoothing surfaces. The blade is optimized to glide smoothly over the inside of a spoon or bowl without digging or catching. Since the blade is double-edged, you can carve with both push and pull cuts.

Comfortable birch handle

The barrel-shaped birch handle fits comfortably in the hand, regardless of carving technique or grip, even during extended use. It comes with an edge protection made in Rättvik, Sweden, from Swedish vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö.

Swedish stainless steel with long-lasting sharpness

The 2 mm thick, 74 mm long blade is made from Swedish stainless steel (12C27) with over 80% recycled content and a hardness of 56.5 HRC. The stainless steel is durable, holds its edge for a long time, and requires minimal maintenance.

The knife is assembled and heat-treated at our factory in Mora, Sweden, with 135 years of knife making tradition. The edge protection is made in Rättvik from Swedish vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö.
